This inspiring statement is telling is to continue doing what is good. We should never switch paths and choose otherwise. Choosing the right is the path to go as it will always lead you in a  great direction. If we have not already began to do good, then we should start to do so. It is never too late to begin a path to greatness. Richard is saying that we need the courage to start and to stop. What he means from that is we need to be able to resist our temptations from doing bad. We need to be able to be able to say no to things we know are bad. It may be hard to initially build up the courage to do so but eventually it will grow and it will become a natural instinct to do good. It will no longer seem like a decision or a choice. An example of someone starting and continuing to do good can happen when someone decides to begin to help others and an example of someone deciding to stop doing bad, can occur when a person who is an avid smoker, decides to stop smoking.
