Duties and Responsibilities: Dentist specialize in oral health. They have various jobs some of them include promoting oral health as well as preventing and diagnosing oral disease. They also will provide advice and treatment on how to better your oral health. They interpret x-rays and diagnostic test. They will also monitor growth and development of the jaws and teeth of a person. Dentist are also in charge of performing any oral surgery, this includes jaws, teeth, and gums.
Salary: $152,700
Education: Education is similar to that of a doctor. A dentist must complete dental school. Obtain a bachelor of science, as well as pass certain exams. After 8 years of school, dentist must then go on and pass a national exam.

Demand for this Profession: The current job outlook is about 18% which is higher than most jobs. Image result for dentist

Reflection: I would not want to become a dentist. I am not interested in what they do or what a dentist has to study. I don’t mind the excessive years of school, but i would prefer to learn about a topic i am interested in, not medicine. The pay is really high so that grabbed my attention but overall i believe i would not be happy if i were to choose the dentistry field

Soil Toxicity I choose the topic because it is something i am knowledgeable and because the information is still fresh in my mind. The soil around our community has been infected by various toxins, one of these mainly being lead. Lead is naturally found within our soil along with other metals such as Zinc and Arsenic. Lead is measured in a unit known as parts per million. Parts per million, or ppm for short, is a conversion for milligram per  cubic meter. The normal range for lead is currently at about 15-40 parts per million according to the EPA. After a experiment was performed we realized that the homes within our community have around 115 parts per million of soil, which is above the american average. According to the EPA, once lead reaches 400 ppm then it becomes a danger to us and once it reaches 1200 ppm then the area needs to be closed off as it become a serious health hazard.
